Eighth Annual Christmas Shop for Children

Every child deserves a Christmas present, no matter their household income. Families that are struggling may have a tough time purchasing gifts for family during Christmas.
 
In 2013, The Guidance Center began a new circle of giving: the Power of Ten Leadership Circle. On Saturday, December 9, 2023, our volunteer shoppers again will escort children from client families for Christmas shopping at the Southgate Walmart.
 
Festivities begin at 8 a.m. and each child—led through the store by an adult shopping companion—is able to spend $100 as a result of this giving initiative. This may be the only gift these children will receive at Christmas.
 
Our Power of Ten Leadership Circle, composed of ten generous individuals/couples, makes this a reality by donating $1,000 each. In addition to providing a financial contribution, you are invited if your schedule allows to join the children at the celebration and for the shopping experience to witness the joy on their faces.
