NAMI Walk

Join the TGC Walkers and help end stigma at the University of Detroit Mercy on Saturday, September 19, 2026. Registration begins at 9am and the walk begins at 10am.

You can take part in the 5K walk, bring your dog, friends, and family. Open to the whole community!

Not a walker? Not a problem. There are other activities, a deejay, and lots of tables to visit. YOU can be a part of a great event!

Quarterly Grantee-Wide Parent Meeting and Painting with a Twist

Head Start parents are invited to this quarterly meeting for resources and fun! Parents and guardians will be able to receive program updates, share feedback, meet specialists who support Head Start and learn about the services they provide.

Afterwards, enjoy painting tshirts and mocktails with other parents! Please, no children allowed at this meeting.

At The Guidance Center’s Kari D. Walker Conference Center,

Limited to 40 participants. No walk-ins. Registration is required.

Have you ever asked yourself: Why can’t I get my child to be more responsible and make better decisions? Come and join us!

These virtual workshops provide concrete (helpful) information needed to be a more effective parent to motivate, lead and inspire the very best in your children.

Tuesday Evenings: September 1, 8, 15, 22 & 29, 2026 from 7-8:30pm

Workshop Sessions:

Handling Misbehavior without Breaking a Sweat
Teaching Kids to Listen the First Time
Avoid Power Struggles and Bedtime Battles
Setting Limits
What to Do When Your Kids Leave You Speechless

Two take-home assignments will be required. Certificate provided only after all five sessions and two assignments have been completed.

FULL PARTICIPATION IS REQUIRED.
