The Guidance Center Launches New Volunteer Program

Southgate, MI – The Guidance Center has developed a new volunteer program and is seeking volunteers who wish to share their time and talent to support the agency’s mission and the community.
The agency offers diverse volunteer opportunities and invites the community to make a difference in the lives of children and adults locally. Volunteer positions include becoming a Mentor, a Community Representative, an Event Assistant, a Switch Board Operator, a Head Start Classroom Helper, a Guest Speaker/Mock Interviewer, Child Care Assistant, Summer Camp Counselor, and many more.
Group opportunities also are available for the Head Start Program or a Clean-up project in one of the Community Resource Centers. For most group projects scheduling should be made at least two weeks in advance.
“Volunteers are an important part of our service to the community,” said Michael Lott, The Guidance Center CEO. “Whether it is reading to a child in a classroom or donating time at one of the agency’s special events, volunteer service is key to our operation and meaningful to our clients.”
