JUVENILE JUSTICE
PROGRAM
|
|
The
Juvenile Justice program uses the "wraparound" philosophy in providing
home-based services to the youth and families in the
program. When there is no court order, the youth and family are able
to identify which needs they would like to address and how they would
like to address them. A Resource Coordinator will work with the families to
coordinate services.

Balanced and Restorative Justice...
Youth As Resources (YAR)
is a philosophy
and a program that provides youth with a unique opportunity to give back
to their community. The YAR philosophy is that young people are a vastly
underutilized resource who, when given a chance, can make a significant
impact on the problems and needs facing their community. The YAR program
provides funding and support to youth to choose, design and carry out
their own special community projects. YAR empowers young people
from all walks of life to become problem solvers and leaders in their
community.
YAR
Advisory Board.
The governing body of
YAR is an advisory board made up of youth, parents and community members
interested in being part of the solution. This group meets once a
month to make recommendations, assist in developing a community support
network for families and approve spending proposals for family needs and
service learning projects. Child care, transportation, and snacks are
provided to make it easier for parents and youth to attend.
