The Guidance Center
marks its
50th
Anniversary in 2008
Agency to hold gala
fund-raising dinner
on Saturday, October 11,
2008
at The Henry Ford Museum in
Dearborn
The Guidance
Center,
an agency that over the last five decades has
become a recognized leader that has
transformed mental health and human services to meet the
changing needs of the community, will
celebrate its 50th anniversary later this
year.
The Southgate-based non-profit
organization, which
last year served more
than 17,000 children and adults, will hold a
Gala Fund-raising Dinner on Saturday, October
11, 2008 at The Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn. Funds
raised from the event will benefit the agency’s under-funded
programs at 22 locations in southeast Michigan – spanning from
literacy and mentoring to substance abuse and developmental
disabilities.
The
October 11
festivities will begin with a 6:30 p.m. cocktail reception in the
museum’s Prechter Promenade featuring the smooth jazz sound of the
Colton Weatherston Trio, which will be followed by dinner and
dancing in the world-famous museum’s collection of all things
Americana including transportation, decorative arts and more. The
popular band, Fifty Amp Fuse, will rock the house as the
after-dinner entertainment.
